Brand Spotlight: The Sola Look Dirty Dancing Edition Look

Hello, today I want to share the first look that i created using The Sola Look's Dirty Dancing collection. If you would like to see how I achieved this look, keep on reading.

To start off, I applied my foundation, Tarte Rainforest of the Sea in the shade Fair beige. I blended that out using my beautyblender.

I then applied Laura Geller's under eye spackle primer and blended out with my ring finger.

I used the salmon colored corrector from catrice to conceal my dark circles.

To brighten, I used Nars concealer in Chantilly.

I set all of that with Physicians formula powder.

For brows, I used Nyx brow pencil in dark brown and set that with essence clear brow gel.

I primed my lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance and set that with my setting powder.

I took the shade Merengue, a shimmery/satin-y peach and applied that to the lids.

I applied the shade I carried a watermelon, a reddish pink shimmer shade to the crease and blended it to the outer V.

I applied the shade Cha Cha a matte purple, to the outer V.

I smudged Cha Cha and I carried a Watermelon on my lower lash line.

I used my bronzer in Lo-Fi from UD Gwen palette to contour/warm up the skin

For blush I used Cherry also from the UD Gwen palette.

For highlight, I used Angel, also from the UD Gwen palette.

I set all that with Mario Badescu rose water spray.

I lined my upper lash line with the black clay pot from Tarte. I skipped the wing this time.

For mascara, I used iSOCiETY mascara in Hello Sailor

I finished the look with the liquid lipstick from the Dirty Dancing palette in the shade Baby.

I hope you all enjoyed this look! I definitely enjoyed using these products and I cannot wait to create some more looks using this.

Beauty Haul: April 2017 Sales

Hello all! I hope you are all having a great weekend/beginning of the week depending on when you are reading this! Today I want to share some beauty purchases that I have made in April. This includes purchases through the VIB sale at Sephora as well as the Ulta 20% sale, and another random purchase.

Let's begin with what I purchased at Sephora...

So my first purchase was a clay pot from Tarte, I was running low. I got my go-to color, black. This is $21.

I also got a Born this way concealer in Fair, which is the second lightest shade. I already tried this once and I was not that impressed, I think I like my Nars Creamy Radiant concealer a bit more. This one is not as full coverage. It is $28.

I also got a beautyblender solid soap and two new beautyblenders. I really wanted to get the set that came with the beauty blenders and the solid but by the time I had pulled the trigger to shop, that set was sold out. The soap was $16 and the blenders are each $20.

Finally, I got a bottle of the Josie Maran Argan Milk. I was really looking for one of the Farsali oils but they did not have them in store and this one was also on my list, so I went with this. I need to say, I don't quite know how I feel about this. The product itself is a bit odd but I really do like the natural glow that it gives my skin. I apply this under my foundation and concealer. this costs $56.

I also made a purchase at Ulta with the 20% off... the products I got are the following:

Firstly, this is a sample blush and glow from Laura Geller. This was a free gift if you purchased $35+. It is in the shade Honeysuckle and it comes with a tiny brush.

This is a lip pencil in the shade Cabarnet, it's like a dusty pink. I picked this up to use under my iSOCiETY vinyl lips in Lollipop. I believe this pencil is about $18.

This is probably my most bold purchase of the whole month. It is one of the Tarte LE lippie paints in the shade fairy tale. It is a beautiful minty-teal color that is bound to turn heads. It dries to a matte finish and let me tell you, getting that off my hand when I swatched it was tough! Definitely some staying power on that! This cost $20. I believe it comes in one other shade (a pink one).

I also got a nail polish, I am a sucker for nail polish even though I have more than I would ever need. I got the shade Minty Bikini from Pacifica. This was around $9.

I also got a brow gel from essence, make me brow in dark brown. This was at most $1.

This is an under eye primer from Laura Geller, I am hoping this will be better than the elf one. This was around $24.

Finally, I needed a new powder and did not want to spend $20+ dollars for a new one so I got the Mineral wear powder from Physicians formula. This was about $12.

The final product that I purchased this month was from The Sola Look. I purchased the Dirty Dancing LE palette.

If you want to view more pictures of this palette or hear my thoughts on this brand, check out my Brand Spotlight post here: https://delightfulbalanceoflife.blogspot.com/2017/04/brandspotlight-sola-look-dirty-dancing.html

Those are all my purchases for the month of April. I think it is safe to say that I will be laying low from buying anything new for a bit...

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy learning what I got on those April sales!
