Rose Gold Burgundy Look using Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

Hello everyone! For today, I will be doing a rose gold lid with a burgundy detail, and a classic red lip. If you'd like to know how I achieved this look, please keep reading!

I started off by moisturizing my skin; I used my Yes to Cucumbers moisturizer.

I am then using my Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation in Ivory and the Real Techniques expert face brush and applying/buffing my foundation.

I applied my under eye brightener in an inverted triangle shape and blended it out with the smaller part of my sponge. (The brightener is Neutrogena healthy skin brightening eye perfector)

I then used my Mary Kay Loose Powder in Ivory and a big fluffy brush to set my foundation and concealer.

I used my Tarte Amazonian Clay brow gel in the darkest shade and set my eyebrows.

I primed my eyelids using Too Faced Shadow Insurance

I took a flat shader brush and applied the color Marzipan to my lid.

In a small crease brush I took the colors Salted Caramel and Semi-Sweet and applied this to the crease.

I then used a stiffer crease brush and the color Cherry Cordial and applied that to the outer V.

I used that same stiffer crease brush and the color Dark Forest Truffle and applied that over Cherry Cordial in the outer V.

I then took a fluffier crease brush and blended out that outer V.

I used a fluffy brush and the color Champagne Truffle as a brow bone highlight.

I then curled my lashes and applied my mascara; I'm using Make Up For Ever's Smoky Extravagant.

I used a fluffy face brush and my Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bronzer to slightly contour my cheeks.

I then used my Real Techniques blush brush and applied my Tarte blush in Peaceful blending from the outer part of my face and towards the apples of my cheeks.

I applied my highlight, Inner Light from the Too Faced Everything nice palette just above the blush and blended it out.

I primed my lips using the Mary Kay Time Wise age-fighting lip primer. This will help my lipstick stay on longer.

I used MAC Russian Red for the lips.

I set my makeup using the Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix.

Hope you enjoyed this look! Thank you for reading!!

Biweekly Makeup Basket for Sept. 21st -Oct. 4th

Hello everyone! Happy Monday! I hope you are all well. It has been two weeks since my last Basket post, so I am back with a new-ish makeup basket. I say new-ish because I have really been enjoying using some of the products that I picked out so I am going to continue using those for a couple more weeks and then switch it up. Without further ado, here are the products I will be using for this round of biweekly basket.

This is the only highlight I own, so of course I will be using Too Faced Inner Light highlight from the Everything Nice palette (LE).
For my eyes, I will be using my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette (I've missed using it!)

For contouring/bronzing, I will be using my Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. I am really hoping to finish this one up soon. It is not my favorite shade, it is too orange for my liking.

I love this lipstick, it is MAC Russian Red. I'm trying to finish this one up as I have had it since junior year of college (about 4 years, yikes!)

For blush, I am loving Tarte's Peaceful.

I am also adding this double ended liner from Tarte. One side is black and the other is purple. I have had it for a really long time and need to start using it some more.

Finally, I am throwing this one in as well. I am trying to finish this up. It is Make Up For Ever's N9.

Thanks for reading! Hope you have a great week! Be on the look out for some new looks later this week/next week.

Benefit’s POREFessional Allergic Reaction

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! If you have read my blog you might have noticed that I do not use a primer before I apply my foundation. In all honesty, I don't feel the need to use a primer before my foundation as it applies pretty well to my skin and lasts all day.

Recently, however, I placed an order at Ulta to get a new moisturizer and some shimmer gel shadows/liners from Physician's Formula. If you have shopped online at Ulta before, you know that you can get some samples with your order. I picked the variety pack. One of the items that I got as a sample was the Benefit POREfessional Primer. I thought, I don't use primer but it was a free sample so might as well give it a shot.  I applied the primer to my face, it went on nicely, smoothly; I proceeded to apply all my makeup and it wasn't until I was applying my blush that I noticed what I thought was a patchy application of blush. I thought to myself, hmm that's weird. I then noticed redness peeking through the foundation on my nose, my forehead, and my chin. By this time I thought something has to be wrong as I had not applied blush to those areas. I proceeded to wipe my makeup off using my Neutrogena wipes and what I found beneath was this:

My cheeks, my chin, and my forehead were extremely red and warm to the touch. I had a bottle of Aloe sitting in the fridge so after I cleansed my skin, I moisturized again and applied some aloe. I did not apply my face makeup for the entire day. About 30 minutes after applying the aloe, I could see the redness diminishing and my skin going back to normal.

How do I know it was the primer that did it? Pretty simple, the only new product I had applied was the primer, and my brushes had been cleaned. I applied my makeup the following day but I omitted the primer. My skin was perfectly fine. I don't know if it is a specific ingredient in this primer, or if it is not the right primer for my skin, but needless to say, my skin did not like it. I can safely say that I won't be trying any more primers from now on!

Have any of you experienced an allergic reaction to Benefit's POREfessional primer, or any other primer for that matter? If so, do you happen to know if it was a specific ingredient that caused your allergic reaction? I would really like to know, for future references!

Thank you for reading!

August Empties

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I know it's about 13 days into the new month and I am finally getting around to my August empties, but better late than never! Without further ado, here are my empties for this past month:

My go to makeup removing wipes, the Neutrogena Hydrating wipes. I will always repurchase these, they are amazing!

My deluxe sample of the Tarte Maracuja eye brightening cream, which I finished in my five by fall. Like I said in my finish five by fall finale update I won't be purchasing the full size of this as I really did not see a difference.

My bath and body works Venice Dolce Berry body spray, which I also finished in my finish five by fall. I did like this smell and would consider repurchasing but with these body sprays I feel I constantly have to reapply, mainly if I am going out at night.

My Bare Minerals eye liner in black. I also finished this in my finish five by fall. If I repurchased this it would be for my upper lash line as the liner itself is too creamy and breaks off easily so if I were to use it on my waterline it would end up all up in my eye and my contacts. I believe the full size is about $16.

Last but not least, my beautiful MAC Up the Amp! I am happy that I was able to finish a lipstick off completely, but sad that it was this one! :( I absolutely looooove this color. I would definitely repurchase this baby in a heartbeat. However, my mother in law had 6 empties to exchange at MAC so I ended up getting a new l/s, MAC Heroine which I am pretty excited to try out! :)

Those are all my empties for the month of August, thanks for reading!

Autumn/Fall Inspired Look using Lorac Pro

Hello everyone! Today I decided to do an Autumn/Fall inspired look using my Lorac Pro. If you want to know how I achieved this look, keep reading!

Firstly, I applied my foundation, Tarte Amazonian Clay full coverage in the shade Ivory. I used the Real Techniques Expert Face brush.

Then I used my Neutrogena under eye brightener and a wet beauty blender like sponge to blend it out.
I set it all using my Mary Kay Loose powder in ivory, with a large fluffy brush.

Then I primed my eyes using the Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

I used the shade Light Bronze and applied it to the inner 1/3 of the lids.

Then, using the same flat shader brush, I packed the color Garnet on the rest of the lid.

I used a small crease brush to apply the shade Sable to the crease.

I then used a fluffier crease brush to blend that out in the crease.

I set my eye brows using my Tarte Amazonian Clay brow gel (I use the darkest shade).

I used a fluffy brush to apply the color Cream as a brow bone highlight.

I used a small brush and the tiniest amount of Garnet and smudged it into the lower lash line.

I applied my mascara. Currently using MUFE Smoky Extravagant.

I then contoured/bronzed using the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil.

I used the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hr blush in the shade peaceful. With these blushes, you don't have to use a whole lot of product. With fair skin, you have to be even more careful with these blushes as they are super pigmented. I just lightly dabbed my brush into the product, tapped the excess off, and then applied.

I used my Too Faced Everything Nice palette for the highlight (inner light), and I applied that with the brush that comes in the palette.

I used the MUFE lipstick in 6N, which is a neutral. You can also use a pinkish neutral lip to balance out the warmth of the eye look, with the coolness of a pink lip.

I finished off the look with my MUFE Mist&Fix.

Hope you guys enjoyed this look! Once again, thank you for reading!!
