Biweekly Makeup Basket October 31st – November 14th

Hello beauty lovers! Welcome back to my blog. I am back with a new makeup basket. These are products that I will be focusing on using, but does not mean I will not be pulling from other products in my collection.

For the eyes, I will be focusing on two palettes. The first one is the UD Naked Smoky and it looks like this:

I will also be pulling out my Lorac Pro (original) as the UD Naked Smoky does not have as many crease/transition shades as I would prefer. In case you have been living under a rock (:p) and do not know what the Lorac Pro palette looks like, it looks like this:

For lips, I will be focusing on my two liquid lipsticks from Kat Von D which are perfect for the fall. The shades are Project Chimps (LE warm orange-red) and Lolita II a brownish nude.

For blush, I will continue on with my Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Peaceful (shimmery coral). I am not sure if this was LE last year or not. I love this blush and I have been using it non stop this year and still no dent!

For contour/bronzer I will continue using my UD Gwen face palette and the shade Lo-Fi.

Finally, for highlight I will be using my Laura Mercier Matte Radiance highlight in 01.

I hope to have some every day and night on the town looks for you guys in the next couple weeks. Once again, thanks for reading!

Hope you have a great start of this week!

Impromptu Mini Ulta “Drugstore” Haul

Hi guys and gals! So, I went to Ulta today to purchase some items as I was running low. If you would like to see what I got, keep on reading!

I have been typically buying higher end foundation as I have struggled to find a drugstore one that does not give me allergies or make me look like an oompa loompa. This time, I decided to be brave and venture into L'oreal and try their new foundations. I had the intention of buying the L'oreal Lumi foundation (the liquid one not the cushion) but sadly they did not have my shade. When I buy drugstore brands, I typically buy the lightest shade as for some reason, they tend to oxidize more on my skin. I saw they had the Infallible Pro-glow, which is marketed as foundation for dry skin. Since the cooler weather is here, I figured why not, let's give it a shot.

I got the shade 201 Classic Ivory, which I believe is the lightest they have. I am pretty excited to try this formula and see how it does and see if it causes any allergies or turns orange. This foundation runs for $12.99, I had a 20% off one item, so I ended up getting it for $10.39.

This next product is the Ulta version of the beauty blender. This comes in a two pack. The sponges are a light pink color. I have gone through a pack of them before and I can say I really did enjoy them. These are $10 for two (compared to the beauty blender which is about $20 for one).

I also got a twin pack of my go to makeup wipes, the Neutrogena in the light blue packaging. This was $12.49.

I also picked up a couple of ardell lashes. I do not tend to wear lashes all the time, but I do enjoy wearing them on special occasions and on the holidays which are just around the corner. I picked up the Ardell Glamour 101 Demi (normally $3.99) which seem a little shorter but fuller. I tend to have difficulties with the longer lashes as they are just too long for my little eyes. Since the lashes were buy one get one 50%, I had to get another pair. I got the Ardell Soft touch 100% nautral in 160, black (normally $3.99 as well). These seem very thin yet long. I am interested in seeing how they look.

Finally, I got another bottle of the Mario Badescu Rose water spray. I do not believe this technically counts as drugstore but the price definitely is, this runs for $7. I absolutely love this as a setting spray. I cannot believe that I was spending $30 at Sephora when there is a perfectly good option for $7! Cannot beat that! Plus, I love the smell, it smells like roses which reminds me of my grandmother. Note: If you do not like strong rose scents, then this is not the spray for you.

I hope you enjoyed this little haul, I sure did! As usual, thanks so much for reading!

Navy Smoky Eyes and Red Lips

Hello everyone and happy Saturday! I wanted to share the look that I am wearing today. I did a navy blue smoky eye and rocked it with a red lip. If you would like to know what products I used to achieve this look, keep on reading!

For foundation, I used my It Cosmetics CC cream in Fair. Since I threw out my makeup sponges (they were gross!), I applied this straight with my fingers... it is a bit more difficult for me though as my skin is getting dryer as the cooler weather approaches. It will be time to switch to a more hydrating formula.

To conceal my dark circles, I used my Tarte CC Undereye corrector in Light-Medium (this is the lightest shade that I have found...not sure if there is a lighter one. This is currently a bit dark for me). I blended that out using my finger as I have not been able to make it work with a brush. I am still debating about how I feel about this concealer. I am not sure if I just have not figured out how to apply it or if it is that I need a different setting powder but this thing creases on me ridiculously! Other than that, I really do like the coverage.

I primed my lids using my Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I applied this with my ring finger and blended that out up towards the brow.

I set that primer with the shade Snow Angel from the It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Celebration palette.

I then went in with the color Starry Night and a flat shader brush and applied that to the lid and blended it out into the crease. This is a matte navy blue shade.

I then used a crease brush and the colors Toasty and Spice (both taupes) and blended them into the crease. Since this palette is very cool, if you want to warm up the look you can always go in with a warmer brown like Peanut Butter from the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bar, or even a bronzer and swipe that into the crease.

I used my Besame Lavender brightening setting powder and applied that to my concealer and then blended it out all over my face with a big fluffy powder brush.

I picked up a bit more of Starry Night on a pencil brush and applied/blended into the lower lash line.

I filled in my brows using the NYX brow pencil in dark brown and set that with my essence clear lash and brow gel.

I picked up a small crease brush and swirled it through the Transforming Pearl shade and used that as a brow bone highlight.

I then went in with my Sephora contour brush set and the color Lo-Fi from the UD Gwen Stefani face palette and applied that to my cheek bones, jawline, and hair line to warm up my very pasty pale skin.

For blush I used the Tarte shade in Peaceful. This is a shimmery coral that is perfect for the cooler weather. I applied that with a Real Techniques blush brush.

For highlight, I used my Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked highlight and a small blush brush and applied that to my cheekbones.

I set all that makeup using my Mario Badescu rose water spray.

I then went in with my Tarte Amazonian Clay pot in black and a Makeup Geek bent liner and applied liner to my upper lash line, winging it out. I love this liner, it is super creamy and super black. As for the liner, I think it is THE perfect liner for someone that is getting started with gel liner, or just wants a little more control over the application.

I then applied my Tarte Camera Lashes mascara to my top lashes. I used zigzag motions starting at the root of the lashes and moving to the tips. I find this is the best way to enhance the effects of each mascara.

Finally, to finish off the look, I used the NYX lipstick in Snow White. This is a classic red lipstick that is perfect for that pop of color.

That is all! I hope you enjoyed this look. I hope you have a great rest of your weekend!
