Kat Von D Metal Matte Eye Look

New Year’s Eve Look 2017

Hello everyone! I am here with a quick New Year's Eve look. It is shimmery, bold, and includes falsies. Keep on reading to know how I achieved it.

Start off by making sure your eye lids are primed. i used UD eye shadow primer and set it with the shade Bone (a creamy/vanilla matte).

I then took the two matte purples, Silk (a pastel purple) and Ribbon. I blended both of those into the crease using windshield wiper and circular motions.

I then used iSOCiETY COSMETICS eye shimmer in oh baby and applied that to my lid with my ring finger. This will serve as a sticky shimmery base to enhance the shimmery shade that I will be applying.

I took the shade Tinsel (a silver crushed metal shade) and applied that on top of the eye shimmer.

I then corrected and concealed with NYX corrector in fair and Too Faced Born this Way concealer in fair.

Since I forgot to apply my face oil, I mixed a couple of drops of farsali rose gold into my foundation (Tarte Amazonian Clay full coverage in fair beige) and applied that with a damp beautyblender.

I set the under eyes with Laura Mercier translucent powder and a dry beautyblender.

I set my face with Physicians Formula pressed powder.

I cleaned off my under eyes with a fluffy brush.

I smudged a bit of those purple shadows to the lower lash line.

I used Espresso from Lorac Pro to fill in my brows.

I then applied my essence gel in brownie brown.

I used the shade Bone as a brow bone highlight and as an inner corner highlight.

The shade Taupe from Lorac Pro was applied as a contour shade.

I used the Tarte Blush in Peaceful.

The iSOCiETY  COSMETICS eye shimmer in oh baby is the perfect light pink highlight. I applied it with my ring finger.

I used the Mario Badescu rose water spray to set my makeup.

I used my Tarte Amazonian Clay Pot in black to line my eyes. For a more dramatic effect, I created a wing and extended the liner a bit into the inner corner.

I used Monsieur Big from Lancome for mascara.

For more of a dramatic effect, I applied the falsies from Eylure, Number 119. These are like two lashes stacked up. They give a bit more fullness and a lot of length! Tip: When applying falsies, make sure to measure them first and cut if needed. Apply the glue, and wait 30 seconds for it to get tacky. Then place them as close to the lash line as possible and begin pressing down from one corner to the other. It really helps to use a handheld mirrow and look down as you apply them rather than closing your eye fully.

For lips, I used iSOCiETY COSMETICS liquid velvet lipstick in Drama. This is a purply red, kind of like a beet color. It also has a tiny bit of shine to it but dries matte but not drying.

I hope you enjoyed this look! I definitely enjoyed creating it. I hope you all have a great New Year's celebration and a new year filled with blessings, successes and health.

Thanks for reading!

Kat Von D Metal Matte Eye Palette

Day Time Winter Look

Hello all! Today I have an easy, wearable day time look using the LE Metal Matte palette from Kat Von D.

I started with my UD eye shadow primer and set that with the shade bone, which is a cream matte shadow.

I used the shade Suede which is a light brown, on the crease as a transition shade.

I then applied Oak to the outer V and blended that into the crease.

To deepen out the look, I applied the shade Stone (a matte gray shade) to the outer V.

I used the shade Tinsel (a silver pressed pigment) and applied that to the lid.

I used the black shade, Jet, and applied that as a liner.

I moisturized my face with my farsali rose gold elixir.

I corrected my under eyes with my NYX corrector in fair and Too Faced Born this Way concealer.

For foundation, I used my Tarte Amazonian Clay full coverage in fair beige.

I set my under eyes with my Laura Mercier translucent setting powder.

I set my foundation with Physicians Formula pressed powder.

I cleaned off the excess powder from my under eyes with a clean fluffy brush.

For my brows, I used the shade espresso from Lorac Pro to fill them in and the essence make me brow in brownie brow to set.

For contour, I used the shade Taupe from the Lorac Pro.

For blush, I used Tarte Peaceful.

I used iSOCiETY COSMETICS eye shimmer in oh baby as a cheekbone highlight.

I set my makeup with my Mario Badescu rose water spray.

I lined my eyes with my Tarte Amazonian Clay pot in Black.

For mascara, I used Monsier Big from Lancome.

I finished off the look with the Sola Look liquid lipstick in Baby (this is from the Dirty Dancing collection).

That is it! I think it is a pretty day appropriate look but it could be taken to night by adding falsies and lining the waterline.

Thanks so much for reading!
