Biweekly Makeup Basket 4/25 to 5/8

Hello everyone! I am here trying to get back on track with my biweekly basket. The products I will be focusing on using for the next couple weeks are as follows:

For eyes, I will be focusing on my It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Celebration palette.

For bronzer, I will continue to use my Chocolate Soleil and my highlight will continue to be Inner Light from the Too Faced Everything Nice palette.

For blush, I will continue using my Sweet Pink blush from Too Faced Everything Nice palette.

For lips, I am not really going to be focusing on a particular lipstick but picking from all the ones that I have. Sometimes, when I choose a specific one, I get bored of it and end up using a different one.

Keep checking to see the looks I post and check my instagram for posts with looks of the day.

Thanks for reading!

Mini Makeup Haul

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a good weekend! For the last couple weeks, I have bought a few makeup related items and I wanted to share some of my purchases with you. So here we go!

If you heard, Sephora had a VIB sale this month; although I am not a VIB or a VIB Rouge, I am a member of the beauty insider program and as such got 10% off my purchases. I was not going to get anything...*says every makeup addict ever*...but when I saw this palette on sale for $30 I had to bite the bullet. The 10% off was added to the already low price so I had to purchase it... I am talking about the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani blush palette.

I love the packaging of this palette. The pans are not terribly big but you do get four blushes, a bronzer, and a highlight so it is worth it. Unfortunately, I do not believe this palette is available anymore. However, if you are interested in the eye palette, you can still snatch that up, I saw it at my local Ulta and I believe it is still available at the Sephora website.

The other item I got, I had been thinking about getting but had not pulled the trigger on. I am talking about the Kat Von D Lolita II liquid lipstick. At first I thought this color might be too orange for me to be able to pull off, but I really like it, I am really glad that I got it. I also got a 10% off this item.

The other items that I got were from Ulta, and they were items that I was either out of or running low. The things I got there are:

My go to makeup removing wipes. These were about $8.

I also got another tube of the essence clear brow gel, and this was $2.99.

I got another felt tip liner, this time also from essence...wow, must be on an essence kick! This was $2.99. I must say, I am pretty impressed with the essence brand, and the prices are very very affordable!

I also got a new eye primer. This one is from Nyx. Now, do not get me wrong, I absolutely love spending my money on higher end products, but this time I decided to save some money and try some other brands from the drugstore for a change. I have tried other products from Nyx and have enjoyed them so I have high expectations for this product. This was $6.99.

Finally, I needed a new mascara. I love higher end mascaras, and had wanted to try the new Tarte mascara but since you are supposed to replace your mascara every 3 months, I have a hard time justifying spending $20+ on a mascara. This one is from essence and costs $3.99.

That is all! I had to use great self restraint not to get some other items. Although, I did not stop myself from browsing! I did see the Bare Minerals the nature of nudes palette, and thought it was nice, some of the colors kind of reminded me of the Lorac Pro palette. I also saw the new Buxom custom palettes which seemed really nice as well. Finally, I also saw some new palettes from Nyx that run for about $18 and have about 16 shadows to them, which is a good bang for your buck and would be good if you are looking for a decent sized palette for a good price.

That's all that I got. Thanks so much for reading!

Weekly Basket April 18th – April 24th

Happy Sunday everyone! I am back with a quick weekly basket. I have technically been using this palette for the last couple weeks, but since I did not blog about it, I will go ahead and keep using it for one more week.

The items I will be using this week are:

For lips, I will be using a variety of lipsticks from my collection but I will be focusing on finishing up my deluxe size Kat Von D in Underage Red.

I will also be focusing on my bronzer from Too Faced, Chocolate Soleil, and my highlight from the Too Faced Everything Nice palette in Inner Light.

For my blush, I am using Sweet Pink from the Too Faced Everything Nice palette.

For eye liner, I will be using my Stila liquid liner in Java and my Nyx felt tip liner in black.

Finally, for my eyes I will be using my Lorac Pro (the original).

Hopefully this week won't be as hectic and I will be able to post a couple looks with these products.

Thanks so much for reading and I hope you have a great week!

New Makeup Brand: Feral Cosmetics

Good afternoon beauty lovers! I hope you are having a wonderful day! I wanted to share three lipsticks of a new brand that I recently purchased. The brand is called Feral Cosmetics, and I found about it through Instagram. They were established this year and began selling their products within the last month. Currently, they only have 4 lipsticks on their website. I am not sure if they will be adding more shades or if they will be adding other products as well. Each lipstick is $18 and they are all satin finishes. This brand makes cruelty free and vegan lipsticks and they are made in the USA. I am all for cruelty free and vegan makeup products and I am a sucker for the kinds of colors they have at the moment, so of course I had to get some!

Before they started selling the products, they had a promotion going that if you were one of the first 100 people to sign up for their emails you won a $25 off. I was one of the lucky winners, so of course I had to splurge and get three lipsticks.

When my package arrived, the lipsticks were wrapped in red tissue paper and the package came with a cardstock that was personalized with my name and said "Hope you enjoy your FERAL goodies. XOXO, FERAL. I thought that was a nice touch.

So now, on to the part you are all interested in...the lipsticks.. I got three shades, Fetish, Euphoric, and Envy.
All the lipsticks come in the typical black boxes. They are labeled with the company's name and the outer box has some lines coming down the side of the box in the colors red, blue and purple. The outer packaging of the box is not all that exciting. The top part does show the color pretty close to what the actual color is.

My favorite part of the packaging is the actual lipstick tube. They are silver, a bit heavy, and....brace yourselves for the best part...the lid is magnetic, so none of that worry regarding whether or not the lid fully closed. I really do appreciate that about the packaging.

Now for the shades... I am not sure that my lighting does the shades justice, but I do really like all three of them.

The first shade I got is Envy, which is a bright red and a perfect color for those retro winged liner days.

The second shade I got is called Fetish, which is more of a watermelon pink. I really do enjoy this shade and it will be perfect for Spring/Summer.

Finally, the last shade I got is a bit crazier, even for me! It is called Euphoric. It is kind of an icy bright lilac shade. PERFECT for Spring! I think I will really enjoy this shade as well.

Here are some more pictures:

I cannot wait to create some looks with these lipsticks. There is one more shade but I did not get that color. If you are interested in checking them out, their website is: https://www.feralcosmetics.com/

Thanks for reading, everyone!

Check back later for some looks with these lipsticks. Have a great weekend!

Project Pan: Finish 16 in 2016 Update 1

Hello everyone! I am here for my first update for my Finish 16 in 2016. I honestly do not have a whole lot of progress to show. My nail polishes have not really changed as I struggle to find time to do my nails, so I will not be showing those as they look basically the same.

As for lipsticks, I have one with really good progress...my deluxe sample from Kat Von D in the shade Underage Red.
This is what it looked like at the beginning of the challenge....

And this is what I have left! Yay! I think this baby will be gone in the next week.

As for my eye shadow from my Sephora Enchanting palette, this is what the shades looked like at the beginning of the challenge....

And now my palette looks like this....

As you can see, I have made more progress on the medium shimmery brown shade and that top light brown shade. The other two, the white and the light gold shade kind of look the same, but hey, progress is progress!

The next items I was working on were my Chocolate Soleil Bronzer and my Highlighter in Inner light. This is what they looked like at the beginning...

And now they look like this...

If you can see this well, The Bronzer pretty much looks the same, but I have hit some more pan on the Highlighter. I am currently working on that top most portion of the pan.

I also had this blush, Sweet Pink. This is kind of what it looked like, pretty new.

Although I did not make a whole lot of progress, I can see a little dip in the product. I am not sure that the picture actually shows it though...

I also had a body spray... looked like this at the beginning...

I can proudly say this was finished in February! Link to that month's empties: http://delightfulbalanceoflife.blogspot.com/2016/03/january-and-february-2016-empties-hello.html

Finally, I also have my Mary Kay loose powder...this is what it looked like at the beginning...

And now....
We are down to that part of the container by the KB02.

Although I have not made a whole lot of progress on a lot of things, I am proud with the progress that I have made so far. I look forward to updating again in August! Until then, have a great rest of your day and a wonderful weekend!
