Project Use it Up – Lipstick Updates

Hello everyone! So it has been a while since I have posted anything but I am back! I have decided to write an update regarding my use it up project for my lipstick collection. Sadly, this project is not going as well as I'd like. I have no idea how I did this but I broke two of my lipsticks (*Sad face*)! One of the ones that I broke had soooo much product left, which makes me even more sad. I am not one for fixing lipsticks or using a lip brush, for some reason I prefer to apply it directly from the tube.

Here is the damage I have caused:

This one is a Frost by MAC called Viva Glam IV. I had already fixed this lipstick but alas, it broke again! I have decided I will not attempt to fix it again as there really isn't a whole lot of product left.

Now this following one really breaks my heart...not only is it a perfect bright pink, but I believe it was also limited edition. It is MAC Force of Love. I must admit, I broke this one while I was out one night with my friends. The lipstick is all up in the lid, so it's a gross mess! I must retire it as well.

I have decided to add a couple lipsticks to replace these broken ones. The ones I picked are:

Viva Glam Nicki... this one is a satin and a very hot "Barbie" pink...it is my attempt to replace the Force of Love one.

This one is sample from Make Up Forever and it is the Rouge Artist Intense Natural N9.

Now, onto the progress of my lippies that have survived...drum roll please....

The first is MAC Up the Amp...I have used quite a bit of this one... as you can see on the lid, the top line is where I started and the bottom line is where I am now. Not bad at all.

This one is MAC Media...again, not bad on the progress! I might be setting this one aside as the warm weather is coming and I will be reaching more for the other lippies...but I will definitely pick this back up in the fall.

Last but certainly not least, we have MAC Russian Red. This one has been very difficult to get through. Mainly I think this is due to two things that make this lipstick longer lasting, 1. I wear a liner underneath, and 2. This is a matte shade. However, I think it is definitely doable and I will continue to work at these.

Despite the fact that I broke two of my lipsticks and they are now out of the project, I do believe I have made decent progress on the rest. Here's to hoping the next ones being tossed out is because they are finished, and not broken! (*Fingers crossed)

Spring Fever!
Purple Look!
Hello everyone! So, Spring is so close we can feel it! I let this inspire me and have created a look using my MAC Up the Amp lipstick along with a few shades from my Too Faced Everything Nice palette.

If you would like to see how I achieved this look, keep reading!

Start by priming your eye lids. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

Using a flat shader brush, apply the color Turtle Dove to the eye lids.

Using a small crease brush, apply the color Be You to the crease.

Using a fluffier crease brush apply the color Live it Up to the outer crease.

Using a flat shader brush, apply the color Mauvelous to the lid.

Apply your foundation and blend it out. I used MUFE HD 110 and a Real Techniques expert face brush.

Fill in/set your eye brows. I used Benefit Speed Brow in Neutral.

Use a small crease brush and apply the color Paper Roses as a highlight.

Contour/apply bronzer. I used the Chocolate Soleil and my Expert Face Brush.

If desired: Apply under eye concealer/brightener. I used Neutrogena Healthy Skin brightening eye perfector.

Line your eyes and create a wing. I used Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper.

Apply your mascara. I used Kat Von D Immortal Lash.

Apply your blush. I used Sweet Pink.

Apply your Highlight...I used Inner Light.

Add your lipstick. I used MAC Up the Amp. If you would like a longer lasting lipstick, you can add a lip liner...Some choices could be MAC Magenta, or if you want a budget friendly alternative, Bloom from Nyx.

Finish off the look with a setting powder or spray. I used MUFE Mist & Fix.

Hope you enjoyed the look!

Every day red lips

Hello everyone! Here is a tutorial for an every day glam look using red lips. If you are interested, keep reading!
First off, start by priming your eyes. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

My next usual is to apply a shadow base to the lids...I used Turtle Dove from the Too Faced Everything Nice palette.

Then I used Fawned of You on a small crease brush and applied it to the crease.

Using a bigger fluffier blending brush I applied Knockout to the outer crease.

Using a flat shader brush I applied After Hours to my entire lid.

Sorry, the picture is moved. I applied my foundation.

I used my Speed Brow from Benefit to set my eye brows.

Then I used the color Paper Roses and applied that as a brow bone highlight.

I used my Kat Von D tattoo liner and winged it out, getting as close to the lashes as possible. You want to start off with a thin line and then make it thicker little by little until you achieve the look you want.

Curl your lashes and apply mascara. I used Kat Von D Immortal Lash mascara and applied two coats.

If desired, apply your bronzer to contour cheeks and temples. I used Too Faced Chocolate Soleil.

Apply your blush...I used Sweet Pink.

Apply your highlight, I used Inner Light.

This step is important if you want long lasting lipstick. Line and fill your lips with a red lipstick that is similar or identical to the lipstick shade you will be using.
Apply your lipstick. I used MAC Russian Red.

Finish off the look with setting spray or powder. I used Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix.

I hope you enjoy the look! Sorry I didn't have a picture of the final look...Completely Spaced out on this! Thanks for reading anyways!
